Medical Oncology Fellowship
Overview
The Division of Medical Oncology of the Department of Internal Medicine offers a two-year ACGME-accredited fellowship to board eligible internists in Medical Oncology.
The trainee becomes board eligible in medical oncology after two years. Our goal is to provide competent, knowledgeable, well trained, humane sub-specialists. To accomplish these goals, we promote both clinical expertise and research activities. At Johnson City Medical Center, all patients of the full-time medical oncology faculty are admitted to a designated oncology unit. Consultations from other services in the hospital such as surgery, general medicine, urology, OB/GYN, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic surgery, and family practice are covered by the oncology trainee. The Regional Cancer Center is a comprehensive cancer center staffed for comprehensive cancer care by medical, surgical, gynecologic, and radiation oncologists and oncology nurses. In addition to multidisciplinary care of cancer patients, specialty clinics, patient education, and psychological support programs for patients with cancer. The combined use of the hospital and the outpatient clinics leads to expertise in the management of the diverse disease processes encountered in medical oncology.
Applications for fellows accepted through ERAS.
