The ETSU Varsity Esports program is student-focused and allows for additional opportunities for student engagement, teamwork, and leadership development. Review the Varsity Esports website for detailed information about the Esports team, the state-of-the-art training facility, and the Esports Management Online Graduate Certificate.
Facilities
ETSU Esports team members have a dedicated training facility located in the The Cave on the first floor of the D.P. Culp Student Center. The ETSU Esports video wall is the central attraction of The Cave measuring a massive 32 feet to accomodate a variety of public display needs, including presentation of gameplay for live esports tournaments. The practice arena is equipped with 14 top of the line performance PCs and an audio visual display that allows coaches to spotlight each player's computer on a central monitor for review and instruction.
Recruitment
ETSU Esports is always looking for talented students to join the team. The ETSU Esports head coach and production coordinator pay regular visits to high schools and community colleges within the region to provide information about ETSU's Varsity Esports program. Students who wish to be a part of the ESports team must be registered full-time at ETSU. Interested students are encouraged to complete an interest form or contact the head coach at esports@etsu.edu.
Teams
ETSU Esports maintains League of Legends, Overwatch, and Rocket League teams. Tryouts are conducted for each team, but volunteers and spectators are encouraged and welcome! Student scholarships for team players are available for up to $3,000. Students must have a 2.5 minimum GPA to be considered for a scholarship and must participate in at least one community service project each year to remain eligible.
