Vision:

Information Technology Services (ITS) will provide reliable and efficient services, innovation, technology leadership, and strong collaboration to strengthen the future of teaching, learning, research, and service at East Tennessee State University.

Mission:

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides the highest quality technology services to students, faculty, and staff and delivers technologies that advance the University’s academic, research, and administrative goals.

I. Supporting Enrollment Growth

  1. Increase Resources and Support for Online Enrollment Growth
  2. Increase Social Media Following and Engagement
  3. Increase Inquiries through ETSU Online Web

II. Supporting Diversity and Inclusion

  1. Accessibility Guidelines Communication
  2. Provide web content that is accessible for everyone.
  3. Improve the ETSU mobile app by providing content that is functional and accessible.
  4. Implement electronic governance tools to assist all users to maintain WCAG 2.0 level AA accessibility compliance.
  5. Inform campus regarding federal requirements for fully accessible web pages and documents. 
  6. Work with appropriate groups to provide training and support for building and maintaining accessible pages and documents.

III. Empowering ETSU as a Great Place to Work and Learn

  3. Implement Production Banner in Amazon AWS
  4. Implement ETSU developed websites in Amazon AWS.
  5. Improve and enhance network systems and infrastructure

  7. Revise university emergency web presence
  8. Initiate Data Center Lifecycle management
  9. Implement New Technologies to Improve Service Efficiency and Effectiveness.
  10. Provide web content that is functional, especially for students.

IV. Supporting Excellence in Teaching

  1. Improve and implement classroom technology to provide enhanced teaching and learning experience.
  2. Improve service to faculty for the creation and posting of online video content.
  3. Establish and publish recommendations for remote proctoring service for faculty teaching ETSU Online courses. 
  4. Enhance the Online Teaching Environment
  5. Develop materials and provide support to promote professional development and excellence in teaching for online faculty. 
  6. Add resources and support for online student success to the ETSU Online website.
  7. Implement and configure platforms used for experiential learning in technology.

V. Supporting Research and Creative Activity

  1. Develop and implement communication strategies to promote advanced computing technologies to faculty and students in all academic disciplines.
  2. Provide ETSU faculty and students with high-performance computing research tools that provide ETSU researchers the opportunity to participate in regional health data collection and analysis through collaboration with regional health partners.

VI. Supporting Community Engagement and Service
