Captain (CPT) Christopher Owens is a AGR Logistics Officer in the Tennessee Army National Guard serving as the Assistant Professor of Military Science (APMS) at East Tennessee State University Army ROTC.

CPT Owens enlisted in the Tennessee Army National Guard in 2019 before earning his commission through the Federal Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia. He subsequently attended the Quartermaster Basic Officer Leader Course, where he graduated on the Commandant's List and received the Major General Hastings Quartermaster Award for outstanding performance.

Following his initial military training, CPT Owens deployed in support of Operation Spartan Shield as a Fuel Platoon Leader and Convoy Protection Platform Platoon Leader. During his deployment, he supported Operations Spartan Shield (OSS), Inherent Resolve (OIR), U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and U.S. Navy operations throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

CPT Owens is certified as an Army Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Integrator. He is also a graduate of the Army Master Educator Course and holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration and Diversity from the  University of Louisville. As an APMS at ETSU, he is committed to developing adaptive, physically fit, and values-based future Army officers through rigorous leadership development, mentorship, and experiential learning.
