Isaac G. Osborne, Jr
Brigadier General Osborne completed 38 years in the military and retired in October 2012. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corp, after graduating from the ETSU ROTC program in June 1974. His last assignment was a “Dual Hat” position as Assistant Adjutant General of the TN Army National Guard and Deputy Commander of US Army Africa, in Vicenza, Italy.
Brigadier General Osborne held numerous Command and Staff positions during his career in the Tennessee Army National Guard to include the Director, Joint Staff; Director of the Maintenance Program; Commander, Support Squadron 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Knoxville; and S-2/3 as a Captain in the 176th Maintenance Battalion in Johnson City.
As a Lieutenant, he was assigned as Maintenance Control Officer of the 647th Maintenance Co, 169th Maintenance BN, Ft Hood, TX.
Brigadier General Osborne received a Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Masters of Strategic Studies degree from The US Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, PA. He is a graduate of Sullivan Central High School in Blountville, TN.
His awards include the Legion of Merit, Army Meritorious Service Medals, and Army Commendation Medals.
