Roy Ike Ikenberry
Dr. Roy “Ike” Ikenberry
Roy D. “Ike” Ikenberry is a native of Raton, New Mexico and received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences in 1962. He then earned a master’s degree in biological sciences at Texas Tech University in 1964.
After two years as an instructor at Eastern New Mexico University, he entered a doctoral program at the University of Oklahoma. After receiving his Ph.D. degree, he was hired as a faculty member at ETSU.
During his 12 years of teaching and another 11 as director of Institutional Research, he actively supported the ETSU ROTC cadets and cadre. He mentored cadre members in the ways of university-level instruction, and served on scholarship boards and other liaison activities.
He continues to serve on the ETSU Foundation board.
He has two children, Geri and Kevin, who are graduates of ETSU. He has four grandchildren - Matt, Ally, Gabby, and Lily, and currently resides in Sun City, Arizona, with his wife, Marion.
