Announcements:
The Counseling Office at University School is pleased to announce that we are introducing a new system called Scoir to help you and your student navigate the college selection and application process.
Later today Dr. Shaw will send you an email invitation so that you can link to their account. As a parent or guardian, you will be able to view their profiles, see their college list, conduct your own college searches, and suggest colleges for your student to consider. Scoir also provides parents with financial tools so that you can get a better sense of the cost of attendance at various colleges during the selection process.
Current Seniors will have access to the college search and career profile features of Scoir. Juniors will eventually have access to all features of Scoir, and they will use it to manage their college and career planning, plus all college applications through graduation. We are excited to be able to provide Scoir to our students and families, and we feel confident that you will find it helpful and easy to use.
Discount Card Sales: Each student was given a packet of 10 discount cards to sell for the senior class. The cards each cost $15 and had sponsored discounts to local eateries and establishments. The goal is to raise $150 per student. We asked the students to sell their cards or return the unused cards after fall break. 100% of these funds go towards the spending account for the senior class and will be used to pay for the t-shirts, ornaments, and Senior Week. This is the only real fundraiser that will take place to support the senior year. We still have a lot of students who did not sell discount cards or contribute to the fundraiser. If your student did not sell discount cards, we ask that they bring a check to the office for $150 (or the difference if they sold less than 10 cards) to ensure their participation in Senior Week. If students opt to not participate in Senior Week, they do not need to provide the $150, however they will still be expected to attend class as Senior Week is considered a school sponsored event. Checks can be made payable to University High School. If your student is unable to make a financial contribution, we can provide a scholarship based on need. Please contact Dr. Shaw if this applies to you and she will handle that anonymously with the Committee
Parents of UH Seniors,
The University School Yearbook Staff is preparing for the 2022/2023 yearbook. If you would like to purchase a Senior Ad, you can do so now. This is a chance to congratulate the seniors; if you are not familiar with the tradition of Senior Ads, you need only look as far as any Buccaneer yearbook.
