Welcome to French class!
Bonjour et bienvenue! I am delighted to be at University School to reinvigorate the French program and get to know the wonderful students here. Before our summer 2022 move to Johnson City, I spent the last decade teaching French and building a vibrant, rigorous World Languages program at Cambridge High School in the north Atlanta, Georgia metro area. My teaching concentrates on proficiency in spoken and written French with an emphasis on culture and fun. My eventual goals are to build French to all four years (including AP), start a French Honor Society, and set up a travel abroad program to give students rich cultural and linguistic experiences in the French-speaking world. Collaborating with area teachers and ETSU French faculty has already begun as we support each other in producing students who thrive in our global world. Married with three grown children and a wonderful little granddaughter, I enjoy travelling, hiking, reading, antiquing, and hanging out with our church youth. Fun fact: I once backpacked across Europe with my friends, visiting 9 countries in 30 days.
