Voice Communications
Access a range of telecommunication services to set-up, repair, or change telephone service. Services also include assistance with conference calling, voice mail, calling cards, and directory assistance.
Automated Call Direction (ACD)
An automated call distribution system, commonly known as, automatic call distributor (ACD), is a telephony device that answers and distributes incoming calls to a specific group of terminals or agents within an organization. ACDs often use a voice menu to direct callers based on the customer's selection, telephone number, selected incoming line to the system or time of day the call was processed.

ETSU has a range of technologies that can connect you with people though conferencing.
Faxing and Fax Machines
ITS supports the phone lines that fax machines are attached to but not the fax machines themselves. For more information.
ITS Design and Installation Standards
The intent of this policy is to provide recommended practices for the design and installation of ETSU’s Telecommunications infrastructure that will support a wide variety of existing and future services, using industry accepted design and installation methods. ETSU attempts to define standards that will enable the design and implementation of structured cabling systems for commercial buildings and between buildings in a campus environment. Long Distance
Anyone who wishes to make a long distance or international call must have a long distance calling PIN. If you don't have one, you may request a long-distance calling PIN. Once you have your LD PIN, you make a long distance call by dialing 8 + 1 + area code + the number. You'll hear a voice prompt asking for your PIN. After entering your PIN, the call should go through.

Telephone Cost Allocation
Telephone Cost Allocations may be viewed by departmental budget administrators at
the Telecom Billing System (TBS) website. Contact the ITS Help Desk at 439-4648 or itshelp@etsu.edu to request access to TBS.

Voicemail
ETSU uses the Cisco Unity Voice Messaging System. Voicemail is optional on all university telephones at no cost. To see a list of commands designed to help guide you through some of the basic voicemail functions check out the ITS Help Desk
