Prior to my arrival at ETSU, it was my distinct pleasure to serve this great country of ours as a U. S. Marine for 23 years (1978-2001). I retired October 2001 as a Master Sergeant. I have served in duty stations throughout the United States and around the world. I have had the unique opportunity to obtain a myriad of experiences and responsibilities that have enabled me to be successful throughout my career. I have held several billets throughout my tenure in the Marine Corps: Marine Air/Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Plans Chief, Operations Chief, Command Center Chief, Recruiter, Infantry Platoon Sergeant, Marine Corps Integrated Maintenance Management (MIMMS) Chief and several others. I have attended numerous formal and informal Professional Military Instruction schools.
Personal accomplishments that I am most proud of while in the U. S. Marine Corps are the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, (3) Certificates of Commendations, and Recruiter of the Year.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences. I hold a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from East Tennessee State University (2007) and an Associate of Science degree (2004) from Northeast State Technical Community College graduating Summa Cum Laude.
