The College of Business and Technology offers over 20 professional organizations. These organizations connect members with other students in the same field of study, give them real-world experience in their desired career path, as well provide them with networking opportunities.
With over 20 organizations to choose from, we encourage all of our students to get involved and join a professional student organization.

American Marketing Association (AMA)
The American Marketing Association is an international professional organization for people involved in the practice, study and teaching of marketing. The student chapter at ETSU seeks to understand the products and services that will help them be better marketers; employ information, education and resources that will enhance their professional development and careers; and advance the thought, application and ethical practice of marketing.

Beta Alpha Psi (BAP)
Beta Alpha Psi is an international scholastic and professional fraternity for financial information students and professionals. The primary objective of the fraternity is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

Beta Gamma Sigma
Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International. Membership is by invitation only.

Collegiate Merchandising Association
The Collegiate Merchandising Association is a student organization established to promote the merchandising program at East Tennessee State University, to acquaint its students with information and skills needed to facilitate professional development, and to provide merchandising service/consultation to the community.
Recognized for strong programming and leadership opportunities, the CMA is an award winning student organization. Membership in the Collegiate Merchandising Association is open to all ETSU students.

Economics Club
The Economics Club offers students interested in economics the forum to broaden their knowledge of economics and opportunities in the field as well as network and interact with recent economics graduates. With student interest, the Economics Club sponsors and annual trip to Washington, D.C. with briefings by various economic and financial institutions such as the Federal Reserve Bank, World Bank, and Freddie Mac.

Entrepreneurs Club
The Entrepreneurs Club provides the forum through which students can explore opportunities for the development of ideas for business start-ups. Using a well-established network of local entrepreneurs, students learn what it takes to run a successful business. Over the years, members of the club have established successful businesses while students at ETSU.

National Society of Leadership and Success
The Society was founded in 2001 with the sole purpose of creating lasting, positive change. Beginning with a handful of chapters and no membership component, the Society now reaches more than 730,000 students around the world. The Society provides a step-by-step program for members to build their leadership skills through participation in Society events. Upon completion of the program, members receive their leadership certificate and take their place among top student leaders across the country. The membership process consists of a one-time $85 fee and attending Orientation, Leadership Training Day, 3 Speaker Broadcasts, and 3 Success Networking Team meetings. Upon completion of these steps, an Induction ceremony will be held to celebrate your achievements. -
Students of Finance Association (SOFA)
SOFA assists in the professional educational and social development of college students interested in Finance and related fields. It provides an association for college students actively interested in Finance and encourages interaction between business executives, faculty, and students of business and Finance.

Supply Chain Association (SCA)
The East Tennessee State University Supply Chain Association (SCA) is a student-run organization with the goal of providing resources and experiences to assist students who are interested in careers related to supply chain and business management. The SCA focuses on student career development and networking with industry professionals to expand the reach of the ETSU supply chain and business management programs resulting in exciting opportunities for students, the college, and partnering companies.
Membership in the SCA is open to all majors in the College of Business and Technology.

Association of Computing Machinery
Association for Computing Machinery (http://www.acm.org) is open to all students. The "ACM" offers the opportunity for meeting other students and faculty in the CS, IS, and IT concentrations within the Department of Computing. This organization emphasizes learning about educational and employment opportunities available in the computer field. The ACM is committed to advancing the skills of computing professionals and students worldwide.

Cybersecurity Club (CyberBucs)
Cyber Security Club, or "Cyberbucs", is a new but ambitious club that provides opportunities for students to expand their knowledge about Cybersecurity, go to competitions, connect with other people passionate about Cybersecurity, and more.
Cyber Security Club is open to all students. Cybersecurity is a diverse field that requires people from all backgrounds. To operate we need business, legal, and administrative expertise. To secure and preform security audits (basically sanctioned hacking), we use programming, investigatory, hardware/embedded, web, networking, social (engineering), and more skills. Scabbard and Blade
A joint honor society that unites Cadets and Midshipmen from all over the country in military excellence. The society strives to better these Cadets and Midshipmen as future officers and to strengthen the joint service relationship through service to the community and leadership opportunities. Purposes and Ideals:
- Raise the standard of military education in American colleges and universities
- Unite in closer relationship their military departments
- Encourage and foster the essential qualities of good and efficient officers
- Promote friendship and good fellowship among the Cadet officers
- Disseminate knowledge of military affairs to the students and people of the country

Pershing Rifles
Color Guard is a high-profile group on campus. Cadets have the chance to demonstrate their abilities to perform advanced facing and marching movements, as well as display our nation's colors in an honorable and dignified manner. Color Guard members demonstrate their new found talents at home soccer games, basketball games, and at several memorials and ceremonies around Johnson City.

Captain Eddie Reed Ranger Company
Named in honor of the late Captain Eddie Reed Jr.,who perished while serving in Vietnam, this team competes in the fall semester at the Brigade Ranger Challenge competition. Open to any Cadet who wants to participate and is willing to work hard, the team trains each morning for specific events that they will be tested on during the competition. These events include the APFT, land navigation, grenade assault course, one rope bridge, and a foot march.

ROTC Running Club
A campus organization open to Cadets, students, and faculty alike. Although competition is celebrated, all ability groups are welcome. The Running Club offers a fun atmosphere for some extra exercise and camaraderie. If you like setting goals and pushing yourself physically, this club is for you! Are you ready for a challenge? If so, join the ROTC Running Club! It is a great way to stay physically fit and have a great time. We participate in numerous races throughout the year and it does not matter how fast you run. Anyone that enjoys running can be a part of this team.

The East Tennessean gives students the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas including reporting, photography, videography, advertising and design. The Edge 89.5 HD4 provides students with real-world experience in the radio broadcasting field. Students gain experience in hosting and producing their own shows, creating broadcast-level production elements and broadcast programming and management.

Overlooked in Appalachia
Overlooked in Appalachia is a multi-media magazine project born out of a desire to cover the issues facing our community and region, specifically our region, The Blue Ridge Mountains, and Greater Appalachia. In its inaugural year it won third place for the Associated Press of Tennessee Feature Writing competition. This project is student led, but accepts submissions from students and community members (overlookedinappalachia@gmail.com). It publishes in Spring and Fall.
