College and Department-Level Scholarships
The College of Business and Technology at East Tennessee State University provides scholarships to current and future ETSU students who meet this criteria:
- An undergraduate or graduate student who is majoring in a program within the College of Business and Technology (CBAT).
- A student who is full-time (i.e., taking 12 hours or more per semester) during the semesters that the scholarship is received.
Students receiving full scholarships through the University Honors or Roan Scholars programs are not eligible to receive additional CBAT scholarships.
The funds for these scholarships are provided by businesses, alumni, and other supporters of the College of Business and Technology, and selection for the scholarships is based on factors such as:
- Grade point average (in high school and/or college)
- ACT/SAT scores (for incoming freshman)
- Hometown location
- Work experience and/or career objectives
- Participation in extra-curricular activities
Scholarships are not automatically renewed each year; therefore, students must re-apply each year to be considered for a scholarship.
By filling out this one online application form, scholarship applicants are eligible to all applicable CBAT scholarships (both at the departmental and college level). The online application is only accessible January 2 – March 1 of each year.
A complete scholarship application must be submitted online by March 1st to be considered for the upcoming academic year.
This form must be completed by the student applying for scholarships: Application for CBAT Scholarship
Academic Common Market
The Academic Common Market is an interstate agreement among southern states for sharing uncommon academic programs (i.e. Engineering Technology, Digital Media, Surveying and Mapping). Participating states are able to make arrangements for their residents who qualify for admission to enroll in specific programs in other states on an in-state tuition basis.
To find out more information about participating states and the application process, please visit ETSU Admissions or click here for the Academic Common Market brochure.
ARMY ROTC Scholarships
In addition to world-class leadership, Army ROTC also offers generous scholarships to qualified students. These scholarships are based solely on the student's merits not financial needs. They can defray the full cost of tuition and provide additional tax-free allowances for books and necessary fees. Additionally, those on Army ROTC Scholarship are eligible to receive a tax-free stipend of up to $500 per month for up to 10 months a year to defray living expenses. In those instances in which the cost of room and board exceeds tuition expenses, scholarship winners may elect to have the cost of their room and board paid in lieu of their tuition.
ROTC scholarships at ETSU are worth up to approximately $85,000 for out-of-state students covering full tuition and fees, books, and a monthly stipend for each year of undergraduate or graduate study and are available to students majoring in any subject that leads to a Bachelor's degree.
