Hispanic Student Day
Hispanic Student Day is the LCRC’s response to the growing Hispanic population and its need for access to higher education. Since its inception in 2001, the Hispanic Student Day has been completely planned, organized, and directed by student workers in the LCRC, and it is fully staffed by ETSU students earning service learning hours.
Hispanic Student Day will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm in the D.P. Culp Student Center Ballroom
This annual event brings hundreds of local high school students of Hispanic heritage to the university for a one-day introduction to college life after high school. Our goal is to encourage Hispanic students to complete high school and further their education.
During the event, speakers will describe their personal experiences in higher education, the availability of scholarships and finanical aid, and opportunities for high school students to apply for college. Representatives from regional colleges and universities will provide information about their institutions, and representatives ETSU campus offices promoting equity and inclusion will tell about their programs.
