*Note: The Reapplication may remain open after the period stated above, until capacity has been met. Any Reapplication submitted after the advertised period will be considered, only as space allows.
Current residents submitting reapplication for next year should not submit a new $100 deposit. Your existing deposit follows you for as long as you live on campus.
Please read this message from Dr. Bonnie Burchett, Director of Housing and Residence Life, regarding significant changes coming to our on-campus housing offerings for Fall 2024.
Completing Your Reapplication
- Residents may login to their Residence Portal to complete the Reapplication.
- Reapplication will be available to residents only during the specified period, Sunday, 2/11 Noon to Sunday 2/18 5:00pm.
- Reapplication will allow residents to request their rooming preferences for the upcoming year: to remain in their same room, change rooms within their same building, or change buildings.
- Reapplication will allow residents to indicate a Roommate Request. We encourage you to select/request a roommate preference.
- Reapplication will not allow for requesting a Private room as Private room requests will not be granted.
- Some residents will be unable to sign back up for their same room or same building, due to space reservation for Living-Learning Communities, Athletics, etc. These are called Relocations. Residents will receive individual communication, if they are being relocated. Relocated residents will be given some priority consideration for their new assignment.
Roommate Requests
- If you have someone you would like to live with for the 2024-2025 academic year, make sure to indicate their name on the Reapplication. Make sure your friend does the same, as the request has to be mutual.
- You may request someone who does not presently live on campus, but we can only assign them once they have applied and paid their deposit. This could be much later in Spring or even Summer. Please encourage them to apply and pay their deposit as soon as possible.
- We are committed to trying to accommodate as many requests as possible, as space allows. Requesting a certain room or building(s) is not a guarantee of receiving that assignment. Roommate requests are not guaranteed.
Receiving Your Assignment
- The Housing Assignments team will be manually making assignments from February 19 to February 28. Students can expect to receive email communication of their room assignment and next steps no earlier than February 29, 2024.
- Upon receipt of your assignment, you will need to enter the Residence portal to confirm the Housing Agreement within 3 business days.
- Once the Agreement is signed, you are contractually obligated to live on campus for the duration of the 2024-2025 academic year (both Fall and Spring semesters), unless you submit a Request to Cancel Housing/Dining Agreements Form by June 1, 2024.
- To maintain eligibility for 2024-2025 housing, returning residents should be registered for Fall 2024 classes. Students not registered for Fall 2024 classes will not be permitted to move into on-campus housing until they are registered.
Rates
- Please refer to the proposed 2024-2025 Housing and Dining Rates. These are proposed rates only, pending Board of Trustee approval. *Link to Approved Rates
- Be advised that all students living on campus, with the exception of Buc Ridge, are enrolled in the 7-Day Silver Meal Plan. After living on campus for four semesters, students have the option to reduce to either the 5-Day Anytime or 7-Day Anytime Limited 15 plans. Eligible students must contact housing@etsu.edu to request a change in plan.
- Students assigned to Buc Ridge will receive information about how to apply for an optional anytime or block meal plan in early Summer.
Summer 2024
- Sign-Ups for Summer 2024 will occur in April 2024.
Not Returning to On-Campus Housing for 2024-2025?
- Residents who already know they are not returning to on-campus housing for 2024-2025, due to graduation, moving off-campus, etc., please let us know as soon as possible by completing a Deposit Refund Form. Click here to access the form. Deposit Refunds are processed 6-8 weeks after the end of Spring semester. We appreciate you for living on campus this semester, and we wish you the very best in the future.
