Dr. Lisa Dunkley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Human
Services at East Tennessee State University. She is here to assist you to be the best
version of you while you are here at ETSU. She enjoys movie nights, theme parks, and
good laugh. Born and raised in the island of Jamaica Dr. Dunkley infuses her island
flare proudly in all that she does. Dr. Dunkley tries to live her life appreciative
of small moments and actively tries to look at the brighter side of things no matter
the circumstances.
Daniel Hedden, Carter Hall
Daniel is currently Director of the Changemakers Scholars Program in the Honors College.
Originally from Huntsville, AL, Daniel graduated from Auburn University with a BA
in philosophy and English before going to graduate school in philosophy at the University
of Virginia. He came to ETSU in 2007 where he taught in the Philosophy Department
until moving over to the Honors College in 2012. Outside of work, Daniel obsesses
about sports and his fantasy teams, enjoys playing trivia, attempts to be not terrible
on the guitar, and tries to get around town on his 1974 Schwinn Suburban.
Deidra Rogers, Lucille Clement Hall
Deidra Rogers is honored to be one of our Faculty-in-Residence at Lucille Clement.
She is entering her fourth year as a faculty member and lecturer in the Counseling
& Human Services Department here at ETSU. While originally from South Carolina, she
has resided in Knoxville and Johnson City, TN for the past 5 years. She received
her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Winthrop University and Masters in Human
Services Counseling with a focus on Life Coaching from Liberty University. She will
be receiving her Ed.S degree in Counselor Leadership from ETSU in Fall 2021. She
enjoys volunteering with local and national nonprofit organizations, creating vision
boards and the outdoors. She takes pride in connecting with people and building strong
relationships where we all can be supportive and encouraging to and for one another
for upliftment and meaningful purpose. She looks forward to connecting with our students
and residents.
Major Scott Shard, Dossett Hall
Scott was born, raised and educated in Southern California. He is married with 4 adult
children. Scott’s wife is a senior executive at Toyota in their new home state of
Texas. Scott has been in the military for over 20 years, including the first 7 years
in the Marines. He loves Johnson City and ETSU and is looking forward to his time
here.
