Just for Faculty & Staff
Peer Support Training
Feeling connected to and supported by others can significantly improve mental health and overall wellbeing. The ETSU Counseling Center would like to share a valuable opportunity called the Be There Certificate, which is an online training module for supporting others in distress. An important portion of this training is setting healthy boundaries and caring for yourself while providing support to others – something many individuals struggle to do. We encourage you to participate in this training, as well as to share it with others in your circle, so that we, as an ETSU community, can better “Be There” for one another.
(This training is geared toward student-to-student support, but the information in the training could also be beneficial for faculty/staff who are unsure how to support students in distress.)

Tips for Supporting Students

- University of Michigan - Common Student Scenarios
- Active Minds - Creating a Culture of Care
