Rachel received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UVA-Wise in 2018 and her Masters
of Social Work and Graduate Certificate in Clinical Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling
from ETSU in 2021. Since graduating, she has worked in community mental health providing
services to a wide variety of populations mostly in individual and group settings.
She believes in meeting every client where they are and the power of building meaningful
therapeutic relationships. Her therapeutic approach often involves humor, rewriting
narratives, creating love and belonging for all of our parts, and gaining understanding
of self, others, and the world around us. Professional interests include the LGBTQIA+
community, sexuality, relationship needs, substance use, life transitions, and trauma/EMDR
therapy. Outside work, Rachel enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, live music,
watching and learning about movies, and spoiling her two cats, Millie and Pumpkin.
