- Forest Walks
-
Step away from the noise and into nature’s calm with the Counseling Center. This guided forest walk group combines mindful walking, reflective pauses, and open discussion to help you reconnect with yourself through the natural world. Together, we’ll slow down, notice our surroundings, and explore how the forest can be a grounding space for self-awareness, stress relief, and healing. No prior mindfulness experience is needed—just bring comfortable shoes and an open mind.
Forest Walks take place on Mondays from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The group meets by Parking Lot 13, just outside the Culp Student Center. For more information, click here.
- University Health Center Wellness Referrals

The Physical Activity Vital Sign Questionnaire is administered during each appointment at the University Health Center. This questionnaire asks the following:
1. On average, how many days per week do you engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity (like a brisk walk)?
_________ days
2. On average, how many minutes do you engage in physical activity at this level?
__________ minutes
Total minutes per week of physical activity (multiple #1 by #2)
___________ minutes per week
If the total of reported exercise minutes is less than 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity per week, they will be referred to a Gym Orientation or a Fitness Assessment & Goal Setting Session.
Gym Orientations help students, faculty, and staff get comfortable with the CPA’s equipment and facilities. Learn proper exercise techniques, safety tips, and gym etiquette. We’ll also introduce Campus Recreation programs, including aquatics, outdoor adventure, group fitness, personal training, intramural sports, and sport clubs.

All ETSU students, faculty, staff, and retirees interested in purchasing a personal training package are required to complete a Fitness Assessment & Goal-Setting Session. During this 30-minute session in the CPA Fitness Suite, participants will assess their current fitness level, identify goals, and receive guidance to create a personalized plan. After the session, participants can purchase a 3, 6, or 12-session personal training package.
