
The Appalachian Research in Business Symposium (ARBS) is a collaborative effort of Appalachian State University, Eastern Kentucky University, East Tennessee State University, Marshall University, Radford University and Western Carolina University.
During March 27-28, 2025, Marshall University hosted the 12th Annual ARBS at their campus in Huntington, West Virginia. The conference featured 75 research presentations across a broad variety of business and computer information systems topics from the faculty (and some graduate students) of the participating universities. 18 of these presentations included scholarly contributions from 17 ETSU faculty and 17 ETSU graduate students. Additionally, Professor Jon Smith, Director of CBAT's Bureau of Business and Economic Research, delivered an invited talk in a session on applied research grant opportunities for business schools.
2026 ARBS
ARBS 2026 will be hosted by Appalachian State University's Walker College of Business and is scheduled to be held in Appalachian State University campus in Boone, North Carolina during April 16-17, 2026. The submission deadline for ARBS 2026 is February 1, 2026.
