AI Demystify
Are you worried about AI in your classes? Sometimes familiarity can ease anxiety. In this FLC, we will roll up our sleeves and play with generative text AI platforms such as ChatGPT in real time. We will gather around the screen with snacks in the CTE faculty lounge and ply the AI with prompts, critique its responses, and hone our abilities to use these tools ethically and effectively in order to better guide and advise students. We will explore a range of topics and techniques. CTE staff will prepare activities and case studies and participants can bring in and test out assignments and activities, get feedback from colleagues, and exchange ideas in an interactive collaborative environment.
Join us, we will have fun with this, and surely learn lots along the way!

Communities of Practice
A Community of Practice is a group of individuals who "share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly." (Wikipedia definition)
These groups do not so much learn together as practice building certain skills or habits together.
