The Office of Equity and Inclusion promotes, supports, and advances the University's mission, vision, and values by guiding the development and implementation of proactive outreach, access, research, and recruitment and retention initiatives for all faculty, staff, and students. The intent is to to attract and welcome students from all backgrounds and promote a university culture that values fairness, justice, equality, openness, civil discourse, and respect for individual differences, rights, and freedoms.
The office serves to promote an environment where people come first, their various backgrounds and experiences are affirmed, and where they are encouraged and supported to achieve their full potential.
The office will collaborate with university and community partners on strategic initiatives
associated with promoting educational outreach, opportunity, and access for all populations
including but not limited to those with disabilities or who are first generation,
low income, active military or veterans, unemployed, underserved, or historically
underrepresented.
