ETSU THEATRE AND DANCE SPRING 2026 SEMESTER AUDITIONS
DAY 1: Unified Audition for Passage & Carrie
Wednesday, January 21st
Bach Theatre, Martin Center for the Arts
6:30 pm - Check-In
7:00 pm - Auditions Begin
NOTE: Students are encouraged to provide a one-page resume and headshot. The resume includes education, experience, skills, and a note about references clearly organized on the gront and a current headshot either on the front right order of the resume or copied on the back. (No Staples).
Students may also bring a completed audition form, printed front and back on a single
sheet of paper; OR they may complete the autition form upon arrival. Students can
preview the information required on the form in the Theatre & Dance Student Handbook.
Please, no staples, paperclips, or other means of attachment as your paperwork will
be copied on-site by stage management.
Please bring your personal spring semester schedules with you to the auditions so that you may note any conflicts with the rehearsal schedules on your audition form.
AUDITION PART I:
Students will enter the theatre in groups of 15 to perform their monologue or monologue and song. The monologue for this audition should be a contemporary dramatic monologue. Songs for this audition should be in the Pop/Rock style.

- If you are auditioning for a role in the musical, you will have 90 seconds for both a monologue and song. You may divide that time between the two however you like. Piano accompaniment is provided. Pleas give your sheet music to the accompanist as a hard copy or digial copy clearly displayed on a tablet.
- Non-singing auditions will have 60 seconds to perform their monologue.
AUDITION PART II:
All auditionees will reenter the theatre for the movement portion of the audition. Students will be taught a short movement combination and will be asked to perform the combination in groups of 8.
Audition Day 1 will conclude by 10:00 pm. Students will be notified via ETSU email with callback information at 8:30 AM on Thursday, January 22.
DAY 2: Call Back Audition for Passage
Thursday, January 22
Bach Theatre, Martin Center for the Arts
6:30 pm - Check-In
7:00 pm - Auditions Begin
Students will be asked to perform a selection of scenes from the play. Sides from the play will be included in the call back announcement email.
Audition Day 2 will conclude by 10:00 pm.
DAY 3: Call Back Audition for Carrie
Friday, January 23
Bach Theatre, Martin Center for the Arts
6:30 pm - Check-In
7:00 pm - Auditions Begin
Music selections will be included in the call back announcement email. Students should prep their music sides with accompanist, Mrs. Keller (kellerv@etsu.edu) or Mrs. Peng (pengl1@etsu.edu) before the call back so that they are fully prepared. Musical director, Dr. Fugate, will not teach music at callbacks.
Students will be asked to read scenes from the musical in various combinations. Sides will be provided at callbacks.
Finally, students will also be asked to perform the dance combination that was taught at the unified audition.
Audition Day 3 will conclude by 10:00 pm.
