ETSU JAZZ FESTIVAL

Join us for the inaugural ETSU Jazz Festival, taking place on Friday, April 4, 2025.
This year's festival will feature the Adam Larson Trio as both clinicians and performers.

Student Performances:
Each Registered ensemble will have 45-minutes on stage to perform and recieve a clinic from guest artists. It's suggested ensembles plan on no more than 20-minutes to perform, with the rest of the time being used for the clinic.
Performances will take place in either the Grand Hall or Powell Recital Hall; each site will equipped with a grand piano, bass and guitar amps, vibes, and drums. Auxiliary equipment may be provided upon request and depending upon availability.
Warm-up spaces equipped with charis, stands, and limited rhythm section instruments and equipment will be provided.
Concerts:
In addition to a day of student performances, participants will also get a chance to hear performances by the ETSU Jazz Combos and the ETSU Jazz Ensemble. The day will culminate in a featured performance by the Adam Larson Trio!
Fees & Payments:
Registration is based on ensemble size:
- Jazz Small Groups (10 performers or less) - $125
- Jazz Big Bands (11 or more performers) - $175
In addition to the performance clinic slot, registration includes a pizza lunch for all directors and ensemble members, as well as tickets to the evening Adam Larson Trio performance.
Schedule for the Day:
- 9:15am - Check-in begins (Martin Center Lobby)
- 10:00am - Student performances & clinics (Grand Hall)
- 1:00pm - LUNCH (provided) and ETSU Jazz Combo Performances (Martin Center Lobby)
- 2:00pm - Student Performance & clinics resume
- 5:00pm - ETSU Jazz Ensemble Performance (Grand Hall)
- 5:45pm - DINNER BREAK
- 7:30pm - Adam Larson Trio Performance!
