Check back soon for more information about this year's guest artists.
Student Performances:
Each registered ensemble will have 30-minutes on stage to perform and receive brief
remarks from the guest artists. It's suggested ensembles plan on no more than 20-minutes
to perform, with the rest of the time being used for a brief clinic.
Performances will take place in either the Grand Hall or Powell Recital Hall; each
site will be equipped with a grand piano, bass and guitar amps, vibes, and drums.
Auxiliary equipment may be provided upon request and depending upon availability.
Warm-up spaces equipped with chairs, stands, and limited rhythm section instruments
and equipment will be provided.
Clinics:
Beyond the Grand Hall performance, each registered ensemble will receive a separate 30-minute clinic with an ETSU faculty member. This time will be dedicated to getting direct feedback to help elevate your ensembles performance!
Workshops:
Throughout the day, the guest artists and ETSU faculty will present workshops on a variety of topics that may include (but is not limited to): instrument specific clinics, strategies for improvisation, navigating a career in music, and Q & A sessions with the artists.
Concerts:
In addition to a day of student performances, participants will also get a chance to hear performances by the ETSU Jazz Combos and the ETSU Jazz Ensemble - the day culminates with a performance by the ETSU Jazz Ensemble featuring the guest artists.
Fees & Payments:
Registration is based on ensemble size:
- Jazz Small Groups (10 performers or less) - $125
- Jazz Big Bands (11 or more performers) - $175
In addition to the performance and clinic slots, registration includes a pizza lunch
for all directors and ensemble members, some ETSU swag, and an autographed poster
to commemorate the day!
Once the schedule is finalized, participating groups will be sent an invoice that
can be paid online with a credit card, or via check by mail. Payment must be received
