The Scholarship Application deadline  is March 1.

All applicants are required to submit *


  • A scholarship application letter, with full name and E#, describing career goals in Geosciences and the need for financial assistance.
  • Curriculum Vitae

*By submitting one application, students will automatically be considered for a range of scholarships for which they are eligible.

  • Gary R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship (Up to $1000)

    Eligibility:

    • Undergraduate – Geoscience Major with Geography or Geospatial concentration
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
    • Demonstrate financial need.
    • Funding not to exceed two consecutive years.

  • Kevin  Wayne Bunn  Memorial Scholarship (Up to $1000)

    Eligibility:

    • Undergraduate – Geoscience Major
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
    • Demonstrate financial need.
    • Preference given to a student who is hearing impaired.
    • Funding not to exceed two consecutive years.

     

  • Robert L. Wyatt  Memorial Scholarship (Up to $500)

    Eligibility:

    • Undergraduate – Geoscience Major with Geography or Geospatial  concentration
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
    • Demonstrate financial need.
    • Funding not to exceed one year.

  • Zachary West Memorial Scholarship (Up to $1000)

    Eligibility:

    • Undergraduate – Geoscience Major with Geology and Environment concentration
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
    • Demonstrate financial need.
    •  International and graduate students majoring in Geoscience may also be considered.
    • Funding not to exceed two consecutive years.

  • Penn Virginia Corporation  and Westmoreland Coal Company Scholarship (Up to $2000)

    Eligibility:

    • Undergraduate – Geoscience Major with Geology and Environment concentration
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
    • Demonstrate financial need.
    • Preference given to the children of active, retired, or deceased employees of Penn Virginia Corporation and Westmorland Coal Company.
    • Funding not to exceed two consecutive years.

  • STEM Community Outreach Scholarship

    Eligibility:

    • Undergraduate – Geoscience Major, first time out-of-state, including international and transfer students
    • Recipients pay only in-state tuition rates and fees.

  • Dr. Michael and Nina Marchioni Geosciences Graduate Support Scholarship (Up to $2000)

    Eligibility:

    • Graduate – Geoscience
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Applicant must be a full-time student.
    • Demonstrate financial need.
