Welcome to the Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology, Interior Architecture, and Surveying at East Tennessee State University. Our mission is to educate students to become enlightened, productive, and responsible citizens; conduct scholarship that improves the human condition; serve business, community, education, government, and health care systems; and enhance the cultural environment of the region. Our department provides a comprehensive academic pathway with five undergraduate majors: Mechatronics Engineering, Joint TTU‑ETSU General Engineering, Engineering Technology with six concentrations (Biomedical, Construction, Electronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, and Product Development), Interior Architecture, and Surveying and Mapping. We also offer a MS in Engieering Technology graduate program.

Our programs are built on a foundation of innovation, hands‑on learning, and a commitment to preparing graduates for impactful careers across the engineering and design professions. Across our nine specialized laboratories, design studios, and field‑based learning environments, students gain practical experience with industry‑relevant tools, technologies, and methods. Our faculty bring deep expertise, a student‑centered approach, and a dedication to mentoring the next generation of engineers, designers, and surveyors.
