Marc’s first introduction to the University Advisement Center was while attending ETSU as an undergraduate student. Like many of the students we advise, his major was undeclared and it took some time for him to find a good fit. After completing his undergraduate degree, Marc returned to ETSU to begin his graduate degree. He was hired as a Graduate Assistant, advising students with an undecided major. This experience affirmed his desire to work in higher education and help students through some of the struggles they face. Once he finished his master’s degree, he worked at Tusculum College before later returning to ETSU. Marc has worked in various student support roles, serving student populations ranging from high school to undergraduate and graduate-level college students.
Marc likes being able to assist students on their academic and career trajectory. He loves helping people and, just like professional staff did for him, he hopes to make navigating the college process easier for the students he advises. When he’s not at work, Marc enjoys playing kendama, hiking and camping/backpacking, and traveling with his wife to see live music and stand-up comedy. He loves dogs and currently has a Boston Terrier who is spoiled just the right amount.
