ACCUPLACER
The ACCUPLACER test is required for students who do not have either valid ACT/SAT scores (or applicable transfer/dual-enrollment coursework) for the three respective subjects - Reading, Writing, and Math. For more information, please see our Assessment and Placement website.
The ACCUPLACER is a computerized test and it is not timed. It is provided to entering ETSU students at no cost to them.

The following are the minimum ACCUPLACER scores necessary to be exempt from Learning
Support requirements:

- 250 - Writing
- 250 - Math (Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, & Statistics)

Testing Options

At ETSU: University Testing Center
Contact our office by phone and we will schedule your on-campus (ETSU main campus) ACCUPLACER test. Be sure to have your calendar available when calling to schedule the appointment as we will be making the appointment for you in the University Testing Center for a specific date and time.
Once we set up the appointment with you, you should receive an email confirmation (at your student email account) shortly thereafter. Please check your junk mail if you are unable to locate the email confirmation. Call our office if you do not get the email or have any issues.
*Note: A valid photo ID will be required at the testing center on the day of the test. Only calculators supplied by the University Testing Center may be used for the Math ACCUPLACER test. -
At Home: Remote Proctor
For students who wish to take the remote proctor ACCUPLACER (at home on their personal computer) please contact our office and we will set up this testing option for you.
Once we set up the appointment with you, you should receive an email confirmation (at your student email account) shortly thereafter. Please check your junk mail if you are unable to locate the email confirmation. Call our office if you do not get the email or have any issues.
*Note: To take the test utilizing the remote proctor system, students must have a desktop, laptop or Chromebook computer that has a camera, microphone, and speakers. -
At Another Community College, College, or University
Some students may prefer to take the ACCUPLACER in person, but do not live near the ETSU main campus area. Or they may not have access to a computer with a camera feature.
Students who wish to take the ACCUPLACER at a college campus close to their home may do so. However, please note that arrangement must be set up by the student and the other institution. Please ensure you are taking the correct ACCUPLACER subject(s) with our office prior to testing at another institution.
