The M.S. Allied Health (MSAH) degree equips allied health practitioners to analyze and respond to key health and policy factors, while also learning essential administration and management skills. Additionally, it prepares practitioners to serve as educators and leaders in diverse settings through the application of research and clinical findings. Students will build on the practical knowledge they already have while pursuing opportunities for professional growth. 

Maximum Flexibility

The MSAH is designed for any allied health professional who wants the flexibility of pursuing an advanced degree through online coursework. 

The program of study was designed with the working dental hygienist, respiratory therapist, radiologic technologist, medical laboratory technologist, and other health care professionals in mind. The MSAH degree will allow students to advance in their field by providing the skills to conduct research, teach, implement innovative programs, or move into administration. This program offers flexible electives, leading to completion in one of three areas:

  • Teaching and Education
  • Program Oversight and Direction
  • Administration and Management

    Students must hold a bachelor's degree and license or certificate in allied health or related healthcare field such as dental hygiene, dental assisting, respiratory therapy, radiography, medical assisting, medical technology, physical therapy assisting, pharmacy technician, operating room technician, etc. If you do not see your field listed, please consult the department. 

  • Does this program require the GRE?

    The GRE is only required for those who have a Grade Point Average of less than 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Are the courses for this program asynchronous or synchronous?

    All courses are online asynchronous and are completed fully online.

    No, there are no on-campus requirements for this degree.

  • Does this program require capstone or thesis?

    Completion of a thesis or capstone project is an option, but not required. Students can elect to take a coursework option instead of a doing a thesis or capstone.

    Yes! As the program can be completed online and asynchronously, it is ideal for those with familial or professional obligations.

    Full-time students typically take two years to complete the program.
