Robert H. Baker, Ed.D.
Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development
Dr. Bob Baker is currently employed at the University of Mississippi as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development. Previously he held similar positions with the University of Memphis and ETSU Athletic departments. While at Memphis, he was responsible for compliance and eligibility of student athletes, APR, GSR, initial eligibility and served as Sport Administrator of the Men's Soccer program. Academic all-conference selections for Memphis student athletes rose by 41 percent during Baker's tenure, while graduation rates reached a program high of 90 percent. While at ETSU, the overall student-athlete GPA increased in each semester over a 5-year period, peaking at 3.21 in Spring 2011. Additionally, the Bucs men's basketball team ranked top-10 nationally with a 990 APR score in 2010. Baker earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from ETSU in 2016 and eventually published his dissertation research in the International Journal of Sport Management: Seeing Through the Fog: The Impact of Concussion on Student-Athlete Academic Performance and Accommodation (Vol. 18, 2017, 546-572).
