Dr. Adam Sayers is an Assistant Professor with the Global Sport Leadership program. He has been involved with the Global Sport Leadership program since it's inception. His leadership skills have been recognized by various domestic and international organizations as he speaks throughout the world on leadership, sport science and soccer. Prior to joint the Global Sport Leadership faculty Dr. Sayers was the Head Coach for the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Women's Soccer program. In 2018, Sayers became the all-time winningest coach in ETSU history with his 80th win. Sayers came to ETSU from the University of South Florida where he was assistant coach from 2009-10. Sayers helped guide the Bulls to 14 wins and the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and win in 2010. Prior to USF, he spent five seasons with Middle Tennessee State and was a part of five straight winning seasons in which the Blue Raiders won their first ever Sun Belt Championship in program history. While at MTSU, Sayers obtained a Ph.D. in Human Performance; he has presented research on various physiological aspects of soccer and is a published author in the field. Originally from Birmingham, England, Sayers attended Tusculum College, where he was a member of the 1999 South Atlantic Conference championship team. Sayers completed his master's degree at Eastern Kentucky University in 2001. He holds both the UEFA "A" Coaching License and the USSF "A" Coaching License, is a NSCAA-qualified goalkeeper coach, and a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is a coach educator within the USSF Coach Education Program, a head coach for the Olympic Development Program, and a sports science staff member with the U.S. youth women's national teams.
