In partnership with the Global Career Center, East Tennessee State University's Center for Global Engagement is pleased to offer a short-term, project- and team-based international internship pilot program in January, 2025.
Partnership with the Global Career Center Provides International Internship Opportunities for ETSU Students!
If you are (or know) a sophomore (min. 30 credit hours earned), junior, senior, or master's degree student with a GPA of 2.75 or better and an interest in a short-term, project-based internship in Lisbon, Portugal from January 5-17, please read on.
ETSU's Center for Global Engagement, in partnership with the Global Career Center, is offering an internship program through which ETSU students will be placed together on small teams and assigned a project to complete onsite in Lisbon. Knowledge of Portuguese is not required, and we will accept applications from students in any major.
The Global Career Center has staff in Lisbon to provide support to students during the internship. Accommodations will be provided. Because this is an unpaid internship, there is no visa required, but participants need to have a passport valid for six months after the program end date of January 17.
The cost for this program will be minimal ($500) for students. Students with demonstrated financial need may apply for a fee waiver if accepted to the program.
Applications are due Monday, September 16. Look for “Lisbon Internship Application” when you log into the portal with your ETSU email address. Please note that one element of the application is a résumé, which you should have reviewed by the University's Career Services Office before you submit your application.
