Case Elledge
The artwork illustrating this year’s conference was created by Case Elledge. Case is a modernAppalachian pop artist, mover and shaker. Their work is heavily influenced by nostalgia, placesthey have lived, people they have met, and above all, love.
Case was born and raised in Smyth Co. VA and Bristol, VA. After moving around to exploredifferent areas of the country, the mountains called them home so they returned to Bristol. Casehas been creating since childhood. They took every art class possible in high school, studied artat Virginia Highlands Community College and East Tennesee State University, and had thepleasure of interning at Barter Theatre. Making has never been a choice but a deep-rooted need they have to explore.
Case works across several mediums but is a self-proclaimed painter. They have recently fallenin love with woodcuts and enamel paint but also paint on canvas, paper, and anything else theycan get their hands on. They also do digital illustrations, both personal and commercial.Recently, they have had the honor to work with Duke’s Mayonnaise, The Bristol Country MusicMuseum, Believe in Bristol, and multiple beloved small businesses in the area. They are anartist at the local art gallery, Holler House, have regular solo shows around the region, andcurate a monthly pop-up called Haggle.
Case’s work is bright, silly, nostalgic, and emotional. It covers love, heartbreak, and everythingin between. They are a full-time artist, living and working in Bristol, VA, and you can follow themon Instagram @lowercaseart or reach them via email @ thelowercaseart@gmail.com.
