Every year, seniors graduating in specified majors are required to take tests related to their major coursework. A Major Field Test (MFT) evaluates students’ knowledge in their discipline of study. MFT results help the department and the university to evaluate the curriculum and make improvements where indicated.
Health Sciences and Microbiology majors are required to take a major field test during their final semester. The test is typically administered the week before exam week during each semester.
Students are REQUIRED to take a major field test if they are graduating in the Fall or Spring semester. A graduation hold will be placed on their account until the test is taken. Students are added to a D2L site around the break week of their final semester. The test requires the Respondus lock down browser with camera enabled. The tests will be administered during the dates below for each applicable semester. Dates are subject to change; however, students will be notified well in advance of any changes.
The Major Field Test will be located in D2L in the ADMN Sem (ASEM) tab. It will be titled ADMN-MFT Microbiology or ADMN MFT Health Sciences depending on your major. This is how it will appear on the tab (the numbers and pictures may change):
