Welcome to the Department of Surgery
ETSU's Department of Surgery works with local medical facilities to prepare students for a medical career through resident programs and student clerkships.
The Department of Surgery is composed of a number of divisions including general surgery, trauma and critical care, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, surgical oncology, ophthalmology, podiatry and Global Surgery. Our department consists of 22 full-time clinical faculty, 6 research faculty, 3 academic faculty, 32 residents in General Surgery, and over 10 staff and support personnel. Our research program consists of active research supported by external peer review funding in the areas of cardiovascular disease, surgical immunology, wound healing, and surgical sepsis.
