Deidre Pierce, MD, MHA, CPE, FACP
Associate Dean for Student Affairs
Dr. Pierce is responsible for oversight of the daily operations in the Office of Student Affairs. She graduated from Quillen College of Medicine and completed her residency here in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Pierce has extensive experience in undergraduate medical education as a clerkship and regional campus director and in graduate medical education as a past program director at institutions that include Quillen College of Medicine. Dr. Pierce's philosophy is that the Office of Student Affairs is here to provide medical students with information about best practices for success in medical school to include career planning, wellness, policies, services and resources. The commitment is to support our students with academic and personal concerns aiming for a smoother medical school journey, ultimately leading to a successful career in medicine. Our goal is to help and empower students to be well, to enjoy medical school and assist them in overcoming challenges as they forge their individual trails. Our office promotes humanism in medicine while caring for the whole person. Core values involve advocacy, service, professionalism, excellence, diversity and inclusion and stewardship. Amanda Stoltz, MD FAAFP
Assistant Dean for Student Affairs
Dr. Stoltz is committed to supporting the goals and values of the Office of Student Affairs. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University's Quillen College of Medicine (QCOM) and Bristol Family Medicine Residency. After spending time as a rural family physician, Dr. Stoltz returned to the college of medicine as faculty in the Department of Family Medicine. Since then, she has served as residency program director and most recently, Director of Rural Programs at the Quillen College of Medicine.
