Welcome to the Psychiatry Clerkship!
The Junior Psychiatry Clerkship provides students with hands-on experience across a range of psychiatric services. The rotation introduces core knowledge and skills in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment while building a foundation for clinical practice.
Students participate in patient care and gain an understanding of how mental illness impacts health, access to care, and quality of life. This experience supports the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care across all medical specialties.
Introduction and Overview
During the clerkship, students gain experience in multiple clinical settings, including inpatient psychiatry, consultation-liaison services, and outpatient treatment programs.
