Cellular, Molecular and Chemical Biology
The Cellular, Molecular, and Chemical Biology (CMCB) concentration focuses on the fields of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry/chemical biology along with applications of these fields to the study of the natural environment and human disease. This research is fundamental to the understanding of basic science processes. Research in this area includes examining protein structure and function, cellular signaling/regulation and mechanisms of action, and gene expression/regulation in both plant and animal systems. Students completing their doctoral work through this concentration will have job opportunities in the biomedical sciences, theoretical and applied natural sciences, biochemistry, and related bioinformatic fields.
Fateh Mahmud / BMS Graduate Program Student
"The CMCB concentration has outstanding facilities to advance my research. Through this program, I can unearth the mystery of cell, its function and role in an organism. I am delighted to be pursuing my Ph.D. in Cellular, Molecular and Chemical Biology and learning more from excellent faculty members and meritorious graduate students."
