Overview
The Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degree (M.D./M.P.H.) is a four or five-year dual degree program. Students at Quillen College of Medicine may simultaneously pursue a master's degree from the ETSU College of Public Health in addition to their medical degree.
Important Information
Students applying to the MD/MPH dual degree program must first have been accepted to the Quillen College of Medicine to be eligible for consideration. Applicants to the dual degree program must receive authorization from the Quillen College of Medicine Admissions Office prior to completing the program application. Students seeking admission to this special program should be sure to choose the graduate school application for the combined MD/MPH program and NOT simply the MPH. Questions regarding the MD/MPH program may be directed to Wendy Williams, williawl@etsu.edu.
Structure
Students may choose to complete the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree within their 4 years of medical school or they may choose to take one year off from the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) to complete their MPH degree. The QCOM Registrar's office and the college of public health work together with the student to create a schedule of completion for the MPH courses.
