Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education
Do you want to be a special education teacher?
Candidates wishing to get their initial licensure in teaching special education have the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education.
Our candidates in special education will graduate with both licensure tracks for Special education licensure programs in Tennessee (i.e., Comprehensive K-12 and Interventionist K-12). These licenses will allow graduates to teach students with a variety of disabilities, such as intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, orthopedic impairments, and emotional disturbance. Students planning to teach in those states requiring categorical certification should meet with their advisor(s) to plan their programs according to the certification/licensure requirements of those states.
Undergraduate Program of Study. If you are a currently enrolled student (cohort program or minor) with an advising question, please contact Dr. Jo Anne Smith (SmithJA5@etsu.edu).
Dr. Jo Anne Smith is a contact person for students who identify themselves as International and/or diverse and feel that they need special support for adapting and adjusting as they pursue their studies. See more at https://www.etsu.edu/coe/student-success/contact-us.php
