Dr. Adam L. Sayers is an Assistant Professor in the Sport and Recreation Management program at ETSU, where he also serves as a Faculty Senator. His research focuses on elite female sport performance, athlete monitoring, the performance impact of global sporting calendars, and long-term athlete development.
Dr. Sayers teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including international Models of Sport, Effects of Global Sport Leadership I & II, and Hosting Global Sporting Events. His extensive professional experience includes serving as a High Performance staff member with U.S. Soccer, working with the United States Women's National Soccer Team, U.S. Women's Youth National Teams, and U.S. Extended National Teams. He is also a U.S. Soccer Coach Education A Lisence Instructor and serves as a member of the ETSU Athletics Executive Committee and Sport Supervisor.
He earned his degrees from Tusculum University, Eastern Kentucky University, and Middle Tennessee State University.
Outside of academia, Dr. Sayers enjoys live sport, live music, Oasis, and supporting Jack and Lyla in their endeavors and activities. His favorite part of the SARM Department is seeing graduates progress and thrive in their careers.
