International Women's Day Presentations

Happy International Women's Day, 2026!

Every spring the students of WGSS 2020 (Women in Global Perspective) honor International Women’s Day (IWD) with presentations on groups that promote and protect women’s interests around the world. Each student chooses an organization based on their own interests and develops an informative and viewer-friendly webpage summarizing the organization’s purpose and reach. Some of these organizations operate in a single country, or have single narrow focus; others are transnational networks that address several issues. All of them combine research, advocacy, and service to improve the lives and prospects of women and girls across the globe. IWD, which is always on March 8, is promoted by UNWomen, a branch of the United Nations devoted to gender equality. This year’s theme is “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.”
