Educational Opportunity Center
Welcome to the Educational Opportunity Center!
The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a free TRiO program designed to assist 1000 adults in obtaining a high school equivalency (HiSet/GED) and/or with college or vocational school enrollment. EOC staff assists participants with determination of educational goals, academic assistance, completion of college admission and financial aid applications, college adjustment concerns and career exploration. The program is for anyone who does not already have a four-year degree. The program can even continue to assist students after they have begun college coursework. Participants must reside in Carter, Unicoi, Hawkins, Sullivan, Johnson, Washington, or Greene counties in Tennessee.
How do I Apply?
Anyone interested in receiving services from the ETSU Educational Opportunity Center must complete an application packet. Because the EOC is a federally funded program, income information will be collected for statistical purposes. All information provided in the application packet is confidential.
If you are a new EOC participant, to obtain an application and schedule an appointment with an advisor, you may either:
