PharmD-MPH
Broaden your understanding of health care
With the ETSU Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)-Master of Public Health (MPH) dual degree program, gain a broader perspective on health, with a special focus on disease prevention and health promotion strategies. Strengthen your ability to conduct and interpret research, serve in an applied public health setting, and develop knowledge and skills to address health and disease for the individual and populations.
Eligibility
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher. Gatton’s bachelor’s completion program is an option.
- Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) may be required
Application
The preferred application deadline for the PharmD-MPH program is March 1 of second professional year; however, applications may be accepted after the deadline. Applicants should first inform Academic Affairs regarding their intent to apply; then, submit the following items to Student Affairs:
- ETSU Graduate School application to the MPH program, available at the ETSU Graduate School.
- Application fee will be paid to the ETSU Graduate School.
- A personal essay of 150-300 words detailing the applicant’s reasons for pursuing the articulated PharmD-MPH program.
Requirements
Students enrolled in the articulated PharmD-MPH dual degree program complete the program in three phases:
- Core courses (16 hours)
MPH concentration courses (fourth year)
Field experience (fifth year of program, concurrent with advanced pharmacy practice experiences)

Program Cost
Save time and money by completing two degrees at the same time. GCOP tuition covers graduate tuition for the 16 hours of core courses and the field experience. Students pay graduate tuition for their MPH concentration courses in the fourth year. Students also pay fees for all MPH courses.
