Undergraduate Deferral Instructions
Please complete the steps below by the first day of the term. Students who need to defer after the first day of classes will need to complete a new application, including the $35 application fee.
- Visit www.etsu.edu/apply.
- Log in with your previous username and password.
- Click on "Undergraduate" on the left side of your screen and "Start Application."
- Select "Yes" when asked if you are applying as an international student.
- Choose the application titled "Readmit or Deferral."

Graduate Deferral Instructions
Please contact your Graduate Coordinator and complete a Deferral/Change of Term form at least 5 days before the first day of the semester you were admitted. If you need help finding your Program Coordinator, please click here.
Only one deferral for up to one year can be approved. If you have already deferred your admission, you will need to submit a new application for admissions consideration.
