Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in operating student center facility; assisting customers; performing minor maintenance in game room; supervising student activities and performing related work as required.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Issues equipment to customers and collects rental fees.
Plans facility activities and maintains discipline in the facility.
Insures recreational equipment is maintained and not abused.
Inventories and orders supplies for the game room.
Performs minor maintenance on pool tables, cue sticks, lane surfaces, and arranges major maintenance.
Supervises the activities of students and student workers.
Performs other work as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of the institution's rules and regulations concerning student center facility.
Knowledge of supplies, materials and equipment used.
Knowledge of the principles involved in planning activities and in the maintenance of a safe recreational facility.
Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.
Ability to communicate with students and direct activities.
Ability to maintain and repair equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the students and other employees.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high school. Some experience working with the public.
