Definition   

Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in reporting and analyzing preventive maintenance information. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Collects and records data for the preventive maintenance program.

Makes field measurements and visual inspections.

Writes reports and work orders.

Changes oil, changes filters, greases motors, changes belts, adjusts thermostats, tightens nuts and bolts, adjusts pulleys, etc.

Assists in reporting and analyzing preventive maintenance information.

Performs other duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of building maintenance.

Knowledge of various commercial air conditioning and heating systems.

Ability to use and maintain equipment common to HVAC activities.

Ability to read blueprints and specifications.

Ability to write reports. 

Recommended Qualifications

Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate or equivalent; plus three years training and/or equivalent experience in commercial air conditioning and heating systems; building maintenance experience preferred.
