Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in operating offset camera and performing related work as required.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Exposes and develops negatives from art copy and photographs.
Exposes and develops proofs for composition.
Strips and opaques negatives.
Exposes and develops plates.
Maintains correct chemical solutions in film processor.
Cleans and makes adjustments to camera and copy board.
Performs other work as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of mathematics as it relates to printing.
Knowledge of the technical and procedural aspects of offset camera operation.
Knowledge of the operation of required tools and equipment.
Knowledge of supplies and materials used.
Ability to make and develop offset negatives.
Ability to maintain proper chemical solution used in film processing.
Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on required tools and equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high school. Experience in the operation of an offset camera.
