Definition 

Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in training to assist in skilled labor. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Trains to assist Air Conditioning Mechanics, Carpenters, Electricians, Painters, Plumbers, or Steam and Chiller Operators.

Learns to use tools and equipment.

Learns to perform clean up and maintenance tasks.

Performs other duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to read and write.

Ability to make simple arithmetic calculations.

Knowledge of use of simple hand tools.

Willingness to work.

Ability to learn routine work procedures.

Ability to attend to detail.

Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class.
