Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in assisting in various research projects and performing related work as required.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Determines information and reporting needs through talking with various college personnel.
Determines the location and accessibility of present data.
Works with the proper personnel in consolidating data and developing needed systems.
Coordinates responses to external data reports.
Assists in conducting statistical research studies.
Prepares initial statistical analysis of data.
Performs other work as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of the basic methods of securing data.
Knowledge of basic statistical theory, interpretations and procedures.
Knowledge of business English and arithmetic.
Ability to perform basic informational research projects.
Ability to gather and compile data.
Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high school including or supplemented by courses in statistics and mathematics. Experience involving basic statistical research techniques and methodology.
