Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in supervising tellers and office workers, and receiving and processing financial records, checks and cash. Performs other duties as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Interviews job applicants, and recommends hires and terminations.
Trains workers to cash checks, prepare receipts and perform other similar tasks.
Audits funds for registers regularly.
Prepares cash receipt voucher daily.
Runs tape, breaks down totals, posts and balances entries.
Receives and verifies deposits and bank statements.
Counts money, checks department deposit slip, and issues receipt for deposits as received.
Prepares cash bags for registration activities.
Keeps records of transactions such as preparing lists of names for deposit, payments and bad checks, and recording refunds of deposits, fees, contributions received, etc.
Operates alpha-numeric on-line data entry terminal.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate or equivalent; type 55 wpm; two years teller experience including supervision of clerical employees.
